My stomach turns when I see the Dem leadership licking the hands of BushCo like beaten dogs working with those known liars and criminals in a “bi-partisan” manner on anything. However, the “economic stimulus plan” that they cobbled out of an illusion and (again) off the backs of working class Americans is a charade. Sending Mr./Mrs. America a couple of hundred of dollars when they are losing their homes or being forced to choose in some cases between the high cost of gasoline, or the high cost of food is not a “stimulus.” It’s like putting a butterfly bandage on a gaping head wound while the very lifeblood of our economy is pouring out at a deadly rate. The only institutions that will be saved in this plan are the banks and mortgage companies who made the risky loans in the first place. Working class, or even poorer Americans (again) will be bailing out companies in Uncle Sam’s ongoing reverse Robin Hood affect. I don’t know about you all, but I am tired of the poor being robbed to help the rich. It’s not right! A true stimulus plan would be to halt the spending of billions of dollars in Iraq every month and use the money to modernize and strengthen our infrastructure here in America. I think we can all agree (in a bi-partisan fashion) that strong bridges and levees are more important than having some Monopoly money to pay down interest on consumer debt or strengthen China’s economy. Or how about using some of that money to save a delicate environment that is being destroyed by the ravages of excess, waste and greed? There are literally thousands of programs that the money could be used for that would create tangible hope in our communities and put food on our tables and keep the roofs over our heads.

The most egregious betrayal of power that the Dem “leadership” has exhibited recently is their abandonment of our troops in the field and the innocent peoples of Iraq in their complete and total surrender to BushCo on military issues and their complete end tp any pretense to stop the occupation of Iraq. The Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority “leader” can well afford to wait until 2009 to perhaps “take a fresh look” at the problem of Iraq. They have no loved ones mired there for a seeming eternity. The “leadership” is banking on a president from their own party, which may or may not happen, but there are families all over the world who will be sent into tailspins of grief for The Speaker’s and the Majority Leader’s lack of heart. Cowardice often accompanies ignorance and I do not believe that Pelosi and Reid et al, understand the urgency for action. It doesn’t take many brains to realize the every minute we wait to end the occupation and end BushCo, precious lives are stolen and others’ lives are destroyed.

Unlike The Wizard of Oz, this is not a dream, fantasy, or movie: When our children fall down in Iraq, they do not get up when a director yells, “cut.” The innocent citizens of Iraq are under the thrall of wicked occupiers and their country has been swept away by a tornado of greed and violence. There are too many of us who are in an unending nightmare that these last seven years have caused and we won’t wake up back in Kansas with our lost loved ones by our side.

No matter which one of the candidates of the corporatocracy is elected to be the puppet of the pigs of war, it is time to sweep all of the Bush enablers out of Congress to restore peace, prosperity and sanity!

When the economy finishes collapsing in this country and the world over, and most Americans are without jobs, homes and hope, Bush and Cheney, who will have "postponed" the elections indefinitely because of the "state of emergency", will herd practically the whole population into the concentration camps the elite traitors have been building throughout the country in remote areas for the past 25 years or longer. There we will get food, clothing, and diseases to kill large numbers of us so as to reduce the government's work load. Then the government will separate the "sheep from the goats" among the survivors. The sheep, those who the regime believes are unlikely to cause them trouble, will be allowed to move into huge crackerbox, one-room apartments hastily and shoddily constructed in the major cities, similar to those in the old Soviet Union. The goats, 9-11 truth activists and writers, antiwar activists, socialists, communists, anarchists, and all other identified opponents of the regime, will never leave the camps alive. All male and female 18 to 40 year-olds will be drafted into the military and prepare to fight Russia and China in a nuclear war that will probably destroy what is left of this "civilization."

They watched gladiators kill each other...it was a diversion. This election is a diversion. The two parties are opposite sides of the same coin. We get screwed by the elite while they sell us the vaseline.
But it's all the same party...it's the war party. We, the People must get our butts out of the stores and get back to the business of being responsible citizens. That means firing all the creeps. GWB, Pelosi, Clinton, all of them....they're all part of it. We need to take control of our nation, our future, our childrens future...NOW!

I recall, back in the '50s, adults would gather on porches and talk of many things. Often the wars came up. WWII & the Korean war were fresh in the minds of all. When of the on-going debates was whether or not the German people knew what was going on in Germany. If so, did they deserve help? Should we, the Americans be helping them? How could the Germans not know?
Look at us. Do we not know? Do we not realize that we have not been a democracy in years? Are you aware that Nixon screwed the Paris Peace talks to steal the election from LBJ, who wanted to quit Vietnam? Are you aware that the Repubs stole the election from Carter by selling arms to Iran, who by the way had hundreds of Americans hostage at the time? Are you aware that Reagan shut down the mental hospitals and broke at least one union? Reagan has been sold to us as a great president. He stunk at the job. He may look good now, compared to GWB, but Reagan stunk.
Look at what GWB 1 did. Heck, he armed Saddam, gave permission for him to start the Gulf War, then proceeded to bomb the people of Iraq for years.Clinton continued the bombing...when we marched in as Liberators, we had already been bombing Iraq for years!
Now, we've ruined what was left. We've taken what was left in their museums, we've taken their seeds and forced them to buy from Monsanto. We have become the monsters. We, the people, the tax-payers, the voters know about. So...what do we do? Shall we be grateful for a $600.00 check? What is it called when someone screws you and then gives you money? $600.00 is a slap in the face. What about the trillions that these killers stole from us? What about the generation of soldiers that will not have access to medical care? decent housing? safe roads? clean water? clean air? What about the generations that will be paying for these crimes?
The time is now. We must fight this on every level. I refuse to let it get to the point where I'm watching the circus in a crackerbox.

The trillion dollar question

What will sink it is a trillion dollars in military spending every year- a trillion dollars that is NOT being spent on the medical, educational, infrastructure, technological (except for weapons development) or alternative energy needs of our society. Money that we don't even have and must borrow from abroad thereby putting our currency itself at risk.

I want to express my support for everything Cindy is doing. I like her writing, activism, and election run...even though I am a Democrat.
